APPLICATION: When used with DC, IW-235 CACD provides a mild, stable arc. Its AMP range covers from   40 to 160 Amperes. This is enough for AC welding rods up to  5/32" (4.0 mm) in diameter. With AC you can use conventional type welding rods like: E 6013, E 6011, E 7018 CA and special AC welding rods (stainlees steel and cast iron).
When a high frequency unit is plugged in, you can weld either aluminium or staniless steel by TIG (GTAW) process.
OPERATION: This unit allows you to use welding  rod diameters from 1/16" to 1/8" (1.58 mm to 3.175 mm) when plugged in to 127 Volts and from   1/16" to 3/16" (1.58 mm to 4.763 mm) when plugged in to 220 Volts.
This welding unit has been designed to operate in a work cycle of 20% at nominal current (235 Amperes). If you are using a lower current, the work cycle will increase in proportion.
The working cycle is based on a period of ten minutes for all welding units. A 20% work cycle means that you can work for two minutes at the nominal current and should let the unit cool down for eight minutes with the fan working.
